Treatment Options Explained

Bio Mechanical WOF

We take such good care of keeping our cars safe and functioning well, but we don't always look after ourselves!  A Bio-mechanical “Warrant of Fitness” (also known as FMS, Functional Movement Screen) assesses where your body is at in the range of optimal functional movement. If you have one area of the body that is tight or weak, other areas step in and make up for that. Prolonged small changes cases in the way we use our body can lead to dysfunction and pain. The same way wheel alignment problems will lead to excessive tire wear. Early intervention can identify these minor problem and prevent dysfunction. This is true of the office worker right the way through to the elite athlete. We can show you where the problems are and the best way to rid them from you day to day activities. Our experienced team can assess you and offer you expert advice to get you back to optimal movement.

Spinal Mobilisation

The body works best with optimal range of movement. If there are limitations then Manipulations/Mobilisations can be used to restore the range of movement. These are often used when people describe the problem as “their back is out” or they “woke up with a stiff neck”.

Acupuncture

This is the procedure of inserting thin needles into various regions of the body. Acupuncture helps balance the body and can bring about pain relief, reduction of tightness or muscular spasm and with it improved function

Tailored Fitness Programs

Injury specific exercise programmes aimed at restoring you to full function and fitness. The programme will be designed for you by your physiotherapist as part of your rehabilitation. The goals of treatment will be specific to what you want to achieve – optimal function with work, sport, play or daily activities.

Massage

Massage is a traditional form of manual therapy where the soft tissues are manipulated and stretched by the therapist hands. Massage can aid in relaxation, recovery, improving blood flow and relieving muscular tension. As a physiotherapy clinic, our therapeutic massages are geared towards clients' needs. Whether it be a deep tissue sports massage or a gentle touch relaxation massage we can cater for all your soft tissue needs.

Onsite Industrial Assessments / Workplace Assessments

Many workers have jobs that are repetitive. The body tries to become super efficient at that job to minimise effort.  Unfortunately, where a job involves lots of sitting then people tend to hunch over and this can lead to many things from sore necks to painful wrists. An onsite assessment will optimise efficiency and streamline your workspaces.

Manual Handling Training

Let us take the work out of educating your staff on safe and effective manual handling techniques. We discuss better ways to move at work. Safe manual handling techniques are important because the right technique can significantly reduce the risk of injury. ... Don't wait for an injury to occur before taking action,  make sure you and your staff know the correct lifting and carrying techniques, and understand the risks and precautions needed when handling loads  This is a no nonsense, hands on and practical program delivering  immediate benefits.
