Classes
Over 60's
Become part of our over 60's group. We have Pilates and Yoga classes especially for this group, and regular visits to the pools for therapeutic exercise. There is a focus on falls prevention and injury prevention.
Our Over 60's group is a great way to have fun with like minded people and keep your body strong and flexible.
Hydrotherapy
Using Water Buoyancy
Hydrotherapy (sometimes called aquatic therapy) uses the increased buoyancy of water to allow people to exercise in ways they may not be able to on land. The effect of this increased buoyancy and decreased gravitational force means that there is less stress on weight bearing joints such as the knees and hips and many movements can be performed in water before they would be possible on land.
Pilates
Go on give it a go - no experience necessary!
Pilates is a form of exercise, developed by Joseph Pilates, which emphasizes the balanced development of the body through core strength, flexibility, and awareness in order to support efficient, purposeful movement.
We also offer 1 on 1 Pilates and/or sessions for small groups if you're wanting to try Pilates with a friend!
Yoga
The practice of yoga makes the body strong and flexible, it also improves the functioning of the respiratory, circulatory, digestive, and hormonal systems. Yoga brings about emotional stability and clarity of mind.
Think of this practice as being the means and tools to realign and rebalance your vehicle (body) on a regular basis. You take control and you can then become your body mechanic instead of having to pay someone else to do it (medical professionals). Because your body is finely tuned you will find that your chances for injuries and illnesses will drop as you are in a much more attuned state.
